Once you have completed your review of this study guide, you should be able to list types of rocks and minerals; identify energy sources; name components of the atmosphere; and recognize astronomical bodies and objects. This course is also designed to help you:

FTCE Earth and Space Science 6-12 Exam Information
Successfully passing the Florida Teacher Certification Examination (FTCE) Earth and Space Science 6-12 test is required to teach this subject area in Florida at the middle or high school level.

Preparing and Registering for the FTCE Earth and Space Science Exam

You'll find quizzes following each lesson that you can use to test your knowledge of the subject matter. The quizzes can also give you a preview of the exam's computerized testing structure.
When you're ready to register for this exam, you'll find an online registration process that is available at any time. You'll create a user account and answer questions about your academic background and experience before moving on to select your test location and date. You'll need to submit your payment for the test at this time and choose the schools you'd like to have your scores sent to when they're available. Once your registration is complete, you'll receive an admission ticket via email that you'll need to bring with you on your testing day. Be sure to bring two forms of identification with you when you show up for your test, including at least one photo ID.
Scoring the FTCE Earth and Space Science Exam
The raw score that you earn will be combined with the percentage of questions you answered correctly and converted to a scale score. You'll need to earn at least a 200 to pass this test. This means you'll need to correctly answer at least 70% of the questions on the test. Since your test on earth and space sciences only has multiple-choice questions, you'll get unofficial score results at the test site, but you won't see your score report until about a month after the test. The score report that you receive will say 'pass' or 'not pass'; however, your results won't show a score unless you don't pass. You'll have access to your score report for 60 days after the release date.
