Once they have obtained general teacher certification, educators in Florida who wish to teach at the Pre-K/primary level must pass this subject area exam. This study guide helps to ensure that they successfully complete this test, which consists of four subtests covering Developmental Knowledge (60 questions), Language Arts and Reading (60 questions), Mathematics (50 questions) and Science (50 questions).

Registration for the exam can be completed online at any time through the official FTCE website. After creating an account, you'll be asked to select the FTCE Prekindergarten/Primary PK-3 exam, agree to testing policies and fill out some background information. You'll then be prompted to select your desired exam date and testing center location. You'll also be able to pay applicable testing fees online.
Scoring the FTCE Business Education 6-12 Exam
To pass this test, you'll need a minimum score of 200. The score is determined by converting your raw score and the percentage of questions you answered correctly into a scale score measurement. Since this is a multiple choice test, you will get your unofficial results as soon as your test session ends. Official results will be available about a month after you take the test. However, your results won't show a score; if you score a 200 or higher, your report will show Pass, otherwise, you'll see 'Not Pass.' You'll have access to your score report for 60 days after the release date. A fee is required if you need a duplicate report sent to you after 60 days.
