About the Exam
The Indian School Certificate exams are administered to Grade 12 students who have completed two years of studies following the completion of their Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ISCE) Year 10 exam. The Sociology exam is an elective short-answer and essay exam that is in two parts. In the first part, students answer one 10-part question; in the second parts, students select five of eight 2-part questions to answer. Students will have three hours to complete the entire test and must achieve at least 33% marks to pass an ISC exam.
ISC Sociology Preparation & Registration
In this course, you will find detailed information about sociology concepts, theories and systems that you must be familiar with when taking the ISC Sociology exam. Lessons discuss basic sociology and anthropology definitions and principles, well-known sociologists and their theories, sociological research methods, and overviews of human society and culture. You will also study in-depth overviews of social institutions such as marriage and family as well as race, ethnicity, religion, morality, gender issues and social changes and movements. Other lessons focus on such topics as how tribes are defined and races classified in India, early and modern Indian caste systems, Indian goods and financial markets and other economical organizations, Indian political authority and power, and ethnicity, education, women's issues and other sociology concepts in India. The guide consists of short video and text lessons that explain each topic simply and with detailed examples and take as little as five minutes to review. Measure your readiness in taking the ISC Sociology exam by completing brief self-assessment quizzes at the end of each lesson.
ISC exams are administered to all Grade 12 students in India and there is no formal registration process to complete in order to sit for these exams. Students need only meet the eligibility requirements of completing the Year 10 exam and completing two years of studies following that exam.
