You can brush up on your current knowledge or learn new facts about reading and interpreting various types of texts, developing creative and informative texts, applying speaking and listening skills and using punctuation. This course is designed to cover all topics you would be tested on when you take the NAPLAN Year 9 assessment exam.
About the Exam
Ninth-grade students in schools in Australia take the paper-based NAPLAN Year 9 exam to determine the level of their grade-appropriate skills in four domain areas: reading, language conventions, numeracy and writing. There are 48 questions in the reading domain, 54 questions in the language conventions domain and 64 questions in the numeracy portion (32 without calculator and 32 with calculator allowed). All questions in these three domains are multiple-choice. The writing portion consists of two parts: narrative and persuasive writing prompts. Scores for this and all NAPLAN exams range from 0 to 1000 and are scaled to measure student achievement over time.
NAPLAN Year 9 Exam Preparation & Registration
This comprehensive study guide helps you review relevant material before taking the NAPLAN Year 9 exam. Lessons devoted to language topics cover details about punctuation, sentence structure, aspects of imaginative and informative texts, writing tips for creating imaginative and informative pieces, and communication methods and listening practices. Math lessons address mathematical symbols, math reasoning, word problems, decimals and fractions, algebra patterns and formulas, measurement systems, probability and basic geometry concepts. Lessons can be viewed as many times as needed on any device, at any time, and transcripts can be printed for easy reference. Affirm that you are ready to take the NAPLAN Year 9 exam by checking what you have retained from each lesson with short self-assessment quizzes.
The NAPLAN Year 9 and all NAPLAN exams are administered automatically to students in Australian schools in May of each year. There is no registration process required to take this exam. Students need only be currently enrolled as 9th year students in order to take this exam.
The NAPLAN Year 9 exam is administered by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA), which is not affiliated with Study.com.
