About This Course
The goal of this study guide is to provide you with the opportunity to go over various real estate laws, regulations and practices as you seek to obtain a North Carolina real estate broker's license. General topics addressed in this chapter include real estate contracts, land use, real estate financing, closing procedures, agency relationships and property management. You will also review North Carolina real estate laws and processes relating to closings, property taxation, agency regulations, real estate license categories, prohibited practices and residential real estate (covering such topics as tenancy and property disclosures).
About the Exam
All individuals seeking to work in the real estate field in North Carolina must obtain a broker license. The North Carolina Real Estate Broker License exam consists of a state and a national section. It is entirely computer-based and contains only multiple-choice questions. The national section consists of 100 scored questions and the state section 40 scored questions. To pass the exam, you must correctly answer 71 questions in the national section and 29 in the state section. The allotted time to complete the entire exam is four hours.
North Carolina Real Estate Broker License Exam Preparation & Registration
This extensive study guide covers all material you will be tested on when taking the North Carolina Real Estate Broker License exam. National real estate topics you will learn about in this course include types of real estate agencies, contract laws, residential and commercial property leases and sales, federal real estate regulations, among other related topics. For state topics, lessons address initial licensing and license renewal requirements, state real estate commission powers and responsibilities, and similar subjects. Self-assessment quizzes appearing at the end of each lesson allow you to determine how much you have retained from the video or text and what, if any, subjects you might need to further review.
After completing a required 75-hour state broker prelicensing course at an approved school or meeting any other acceptable educational option, you will qualify to submit an application to the North Carolina Real Estate Commission to take the broker license exam. You can submit the application online or by mail. Payment of fees must accompany this application. Once you have been notified of exam eligibility, either by mail or email, you must contact the testing service to arrange the date and location to take the exam.
