About the Course
Prospective high school graduates in New York State must earn a Regents Diploma by completing a set number of credits and passing five Regents Exams. One of these exams must be in science; you can choose from tests in chemistry, earth science, the living environment and physics. If you opt to pursue a diploma with advanced designation, you'll have to take a Regents Exam in a physical science and another in a life science.
Our online study guide in physics can help you review ahead of the Physics Regents Exam. Jog your memory concerning physics basics, such as types of lab equipment and application of physics to daily life, and other topics through dozens of brief but comprehensive video lessons. This course also includes chapters on the following:
- Mathematics of physics
- Energy and thermodynamics
- Linear momentum
- Rotational motion
- Electricity in physics
- Waves, sound and light
- Modern physics
The Physics Regents Exam comprises 85 questions. These questions are divided over three sections. The first features only multiple-choice questions, while the second has both multiple-choice and written-response questions. The third section is made up of only open-ended questions. You'll be able to use the 2006 Edition Reference Tables for Physical Setting/Physics, along with a scientific or graphing calculator, centimeter ruler and protractor, to complete this exam. All of these materials will be provided for you.
