The PLACE Physical Education exam is a content area exam required for those seeking certification as physical education instructors at the elementary, middle or high school levels. You will need to demonstrate knowledge various physical activities, physical growth and instructional strategies in order to pass this test. The test is paper-administered and contains multiple-choice questions only. A passing score of 220 is required for all PLACE exams.

This extensive study guide allows you to review and assess what you have learned about physical, cognitive and social development throughout the stages of life, adolescent stress and socialization, the functions of body systems, fitness concepts, techniques for playing various types of sports and characteristics of successful physical education programs. Registration for PLACE exams is available 24/7 online. Once you have accessed the PLACE website, go to the 'Register Now' tab and create an account. Payment of exam fees can be made online, by phone or by mail using a credit card, cashier's check or money order. A printed admission ticket must be presented along with personal I.D. at the test site the day of your exam.
