The computer-delivered Praxis Physics examination is divided into six sections. It's designed for candidates who have earned or are almost finished pursuing a four-year degree in physics and education.

Praxis Physics Preparation & Registration
Chapters of short video lessons comprise this physics course. Although most lessons are less than ten minutes long, they include comprehensive material. You'll have opportunities to review and absorb information as it's presented by established teachers. Harmonic motion, Ohm's law, potential energy, laboratory safety and the metric system are just some potential areas of exploration. By utilizing the video tags, you could choose to study only the topics you don't have a clear understanding of. Experts can also provide interactive support by answering the questions you submit.
Register online for the Praxis Physics examination with a credit or debit card, and you can immediately print an admission ticket. For this registration method, you'll create an account on the Educational Testing Service (ETS) Praxis website. You can also register by mail, and a voucher number will be mailed to you. Phone registrations are allowed, but there's an additional charge for using this method. On the day of testing, arrive about 30 minutes early with your admission ticket and a valid form of identification. Prior to the scheduled testing date, make certain that your test location hasn't changed.
Scoring the Praxis Physics Examination
Scores can be accessed online within 10 to 16 business days of the testing date. While you're completing the registration process, you can arrange for your scores to be sent to a maximum of four pertinent institutions without charge. In some cases, candidates can view unofficial test scores immediately after completing an examination, but no paper copies will be provided at testing centers. This doesn't apply to all tests.

Exam topics covered: Vectors and scalars, kinematics, dynamics and fluid mechanics
What you'll study: While working through this course, you'll be able to discover the differences between vectors and scalars, and get details on the components of vectors. Review rotational kinematics along with relative velocity, and explore the movement of fluids.
Electricity and Magnetism
Number of questions: 24
Exam topics covered: Electrostatics, electrical properties, electrical current, capacitance, alternating and direct current, series and circuits, and magnetic fields
What you'll study: This course covers electric currents, static electricity, electrical force fields, the property of conductivity, and the fundamentals of electrical circuitry. Coulomb's law and Gauss' law are also explained.
Optics and Waves
Number of questions: 16
Exam topics covered: Types of waves, reflection and diffraction, the Doppler effect, sound, electromagnetic waves and optics
What you'll study: Discover more about the behavior of waves, including diffraction. The course outlines the ways in which sound waves travel, and it looks at various kinds of electromagnetic waves. The applications of the Doppler effect are examined and prisms are defined.
Heat, Energy and Thermodynamics

Exam topics covered: Temperature, heat transfer, energy forms, the states of matter, kinetic molecular theory and thermodynamics
What you'll study: You'll review information about temperature and discover how it's determined, and you'll find out about some of the main ways in which heat can be transferred. Study radiant, chemical, kinetic and thermal energy, and examine thermodynamic processes.
Modern Physics and Atomic Nuclear Structure
Number of questions: 15
Exam topics covered: Atoms and atomic structure, radioactivity and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle
What you'll study: Get information about early atomic theory, review the definition of radioactive decay and discover the different types. The course also presents the equation for the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.
Scientific Inquiry, Processes and Social Perspectives
Number of questions: 15
Exam topics covered: Scientific inquiry and procedures, and the relationships between science, technology and society
What you'll study: Explore the scientific method as well as ethics as they relate to scientific investigations. Learn about laboratory safety protocols, and compare qualitative data with quantitative data. Read about the effects of scientific developments on the lives of people.
