About the TASC Science Exam
The TASC is a high school equivalency test offered in several states. Science is one of five subject areas that make up the TASC test, and you must pass each section to earn your equivalency credential. The TASC exam is offered at approved testing centers throughout the year. It is primarily administered by computer, but paper tests are available.
TASC Science Registration and Preparation
Registering to take the TASC exam varies by state. Generally, you will create an online account and register for the test, but other options may be available as well.
Our video lessons will help you review science topics as you prepare for the TASC Science subtest. The self-assessment quizzes at the end of each lesson let you see where you need further review and also allow you to get practice taking a multiple-choice computer-based test.
TASC Science Scoring and Score Reports
The passing score on the TASC Science is 500. Scores from computer-based tests are available on the Internet within 24 hours, while scores from paper tests can take up to 10 days to be logged into the system.
You're allotted 85 minutes to take the test in English and 90 minutes in Spanish. If taken on a computer, the test has 48 multiple-choice questions and a technology-enhanced item; paper-based tests have 49 multiple-choice questions. Both versions also have one constructed-response (written) item.
