Flashcard Content Overview

Gather around the fire, men of old, grab a cup of your strongest mead and listen to a tale of knights, heroes, drunken men who are carried off in the night, and monsters. Beowulf, the epic poem of Medieval origin, tells the tale of a Nordic hero who not only bravely faced a monster who terrorized the Danes of Herot while they slept (off their drink), but defeated him by tearing his arm clean off of his body. But simply decimating one monster was not enough for the legendary Beowulf, he also beheaded Grendel's mother before ruling a country for 50 years and then returning to his hero work to face a fiery dragon. Flip through these flashcards to reacquaint yourself with Beowulf and his many, often bloody, adventures.
