Distance=rate*time
Carlos drove 196 kilometers in 4 hours. Calculate his rate in km/hr.
196/4=49 km/hr
Margarita is traveling on a bus going an average of 72 km/hr for 8.5 hours. Calculate her total distance traveled.
72 km/hr × 8.5 hr = 612 km
Rodrigo went for a walk at a pace of 3.3 km/hr, traveling 6 km total. Calculate his total time walked in hours.

A semi-truck uses 74 gallons of gasoline per 1000 miles traveled. Going this rate, calculate the total gallons used for a trip of 3,650 miles.
74/1000=x/3,650 --> 1000x=3,650*74 --> 1000x=270,100 --> x=270.1 gallons
