Determine the value of (4!) divided by (2!).
The expression (4!)/(2!) can be reduced to 4*3 and that equals 12.
Got it
Find the value of the expression: 7!
7! tells you that you have to multiply 7*6*5*4*3*2*1 and that equals 5040.
Got it
Find the value of the expression: (10!)/(9!)
The value of the expression is 10.
Got it
Factorial
The symbol for a factorial is a number followed by an exclamation point. It tells you to multiply that number by all natural numbers smaller than it down to 1.
Got it
Find the value of (73!) divided by (71!).
The expression (73!)/(71!) can be reduced to 73*72 and that is equal to 5256.

## Flashcard Content Overview

What are you supposed to do when you see a number followed by an exclamation point? No, it does not mean to yell out that number really loudly! These flashcards will give you some practice problems to review concepts related to probability. You will be able to calculate single factorials, as well as products and quotients of factorials. In addition, you can also practice problems that involve expanding expressions by using the Binomial Theorem.

There are videos linked to each of these flashcards. However, if you are interested in learning even more about factorials and binomials, you can check out the links below.

## Studying with Flashcards

As you prepare to take a test on probability, you can use these flashcards to practice some of the skills needed to calculate factorials and binomial expansions. Numbers involving factorials often get pretty large, so you will want to have a calculator handy for a couple of the problems. You will also need some scratch paper to work out some of the necessary calculations.

Determine the value of the expression: 3!
3! means that you have to multiply 3*2*1 and that equals 6.
Determine the value of the expression: (6!2!)/(3!)
The expression (6!2!)/(3!) can be simplified to 6*5*4*2*1 and that equals 240.
Expand the following expression by using the Binomial Theorem: (x + 1)7
The expansion is x7 + 7x6 + 21x5 + 35x4 + 35x3 + 21x2 + 7x + 1.
Find the third term in the expansion of the following expression: (3x - 2)3.
The third term in the expansion is 3(3x)(-2)2. That can be simplified to 36x.
Binomial Theorem
It allows you to use the rows of Pascal's triangle to determine the coefficients for the terms in the expansion of a binomial raised to a power.
