This assignment guides students through the process of brainstorming three possible narrative essay topics, creating introductory paragraphs for each one, and composing a full narrative essay on one of the three, with attention to details such as hook, dialogue, and descriptive language.

Assignment Instructions for Students

Choose 3 possible topics for a narrative essay. Then, for each of the 3 topics, brainstorm through mapping or listing what you would include in your essay, including details around the hook, dialogue, pacing, description and sensory language. Write one introductory paragraph for each topic, then choose one to complete in full. Your essay should be 800-1000 words long.
