Brave New World - Chapter 8

The difficult themes of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley continue in Chapter 8. The chapter opens on John and Bernard strolling through the pueblo and focuses on John's retelling of his childhood with the Indians. His life as an outsider born in the pueblo was difficult as he struggled to understand his mother's angst in the society, as well as the culture's difficulty with his mother. The chapter ends on a note of hope as Bernard offers to try to take John and Linda back to London.

In this lesson, you will find both short answer and essay style comprehension questions related to chapter 8. Some of the short answer questions are well suited to be adjusted to multiple choice questions. Please feel free to make this adjustment if you feel it is more appropriate for your students. You will find that some questions answer other questions.
