'Breadcrumbs' is a fictional novel written by Anne Ursu in 2011. In this novel, young readers will read a ''grown-up'' fairy tale that is a twist on the stories they likely enjoyed when they were younger.

Breadcrumbs by Anne Ursu

In Breadcrumbs, author Anne Ursu intricately weaves together classic fairytales with modern elements. This book is written for upper elementary and middle school readers. The reading level of the book appropriately matches the age of the tale's main characters--Jack and Hazel are eleven year old best friends. Use these discussion questions after students have finished reading the book. The first set of questions asks students about the events of the book, and the second set of questions requires them to use critical thinking skills.
