The Cold War Unit

The Cold War was a period of time that saw the nation and world on the brink of disaster. Not only that, but because it happened not that long ago, it is a topic that provides profound insight into the international workings of the world today. With that timeline in mind, this unit focuses on the causes and events of the Cold War, particularly looking at how different American presidents interacted with the Soviet Union. We'd recommend doing a second unit immediately after that examines the effects of the Cold War and modern history for the last 25 years.
