## Steps for Converting Ounces to Grams

Step 1: Convert ounces to pounds

Step 2: Convert pounds to kilograms

Step 3: Convert kilograms to grams

In order to convert from one unit to the other, we multiply by the conversion factor. The conversion factor is the ratio of the units set up as a fraction. The unit that we are converting to should be in the numerator. For example, when converting ounces to pounds, pounds should be in the numerator of the fraction and ounces should be in the denominator.

The following equivalent units will be used to convert ounces to grams.

 16 ounces = 1 pound 2.2 pounds = 1 kilogram 1 kilogram = 1,000 grams
