Crickets Lesson Plan for Elementary School

Dana teaches social sciences at the college level and English and psychology at the high school level. She has master's degrees in applied, clinical and community psychology.

Crickets may be noisy, but students love learning about these interesting insects. This lesson plan uses a text lesson to explain key facts about crickets. An activity designed to reinforce learning helps to take the fun to a new level.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • summarize key facts about crickets
  • describe the natural habitat of crickets
  • list the foods eaten by crickets
  • identify the potential predators of crickets
  • discuss the life cycle of the cricket

Curriculum Standards
