  • Access to technology and the internet
  • Poster board
  • Construction paper
  • Stapler
  • Colored pencils

Warm Up and Preparation

  • Ask students to think about what their body needs to be healthy. Break them into partners and have them discuss.
  • Share ideas as a whole class, highlighting exercise and healthy food choices.
  • Introduce the term 'diabetes' and give students five minutes to write everything they know about it.
  • Tell partners to share their answers, then discuss as a whole group.
  • Have students keep their lists near as they read the lesson.
