Earthworm Lesson Plan for Elementary School

Use this lesson plan to help you teach your students about the earthworm. Students will read a text lesson that tells all about these creatures, ask and answer questions, play a fun game, then apply understanding to an activity.

Learning Objectives

After this lesson, students will be able to:

  • explain how earthworms are good for the earth
  • describe functions of an earthworm, such as digestion and movement
  • ask and answer questions about earthworms

  • Earthworms
  • Craft sticks

  • Construction paper, cut into quarter-sized pieces
  • Markers
