''The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'' is a story about four siblings in a magical land called Narnia and a battle of evil versus good. The youngest brother Edmund changes from greedy to brave, first betraying his siblings and then saving the day.

Discovery of the Wardrobe

Edmund is a very important character in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. When he travels to Narnia, it sets a chain of events that make his siblings fight to save Narnia! Edmund is not very nice to his siblings in the beginning of the story. Lucy discovers the wardrobe that leads to Narnia, but Edmund teases her, telling her that Narnia is not real and that she is making it all up. He eventually follows Lucy into the wardrobe, but he does not find Lucy; he finds the White Witch.

Edmund Meets the White Witch

When he meets the White Witch in the snowy forest, she gives him magical Turkish Delight that she made with her wand. After he eats the Turkish Delight, she asks him to bring his siblings to Narnia to meet her. He does not think this is a bad idea, and he wants more Turkish Delight so he does not see how evil the Witch is. Eventually all of the siblings come to Narnia.

Lucy Tries to Warn Edmund

Lucy warns Edmund about the White Witch, and tells him everything that her friends Tumnus and Mr. Beaver told her about the White Witch, like how she has placed a spell over Narnia to make it always winter, but with no Christmas. Lucy tells her siblings that they must go see the lion Aslan, the true king of Narnia, to save Tumnus. Tumnus was arrested by the White Witch for helping Lucy. When they all set out to see Aslan, they discover Edmund is missing.

Edmund Runs Away

Edmund does not listen to Lucy and still trusts the Witch, and betrays his siblings by running away to see her. He does not trust Aslan because the Witch tells him lies so he will believe that she is good, when really she is not! He sees the Witch do evil things, but tries to come up with reasons to explain them instead of accepting that she is bad.

He does not fully understand how evil the queen is until she turns helpless animals into stone in front of him. When that happens, he tries to go back to his siblings, but the Witch will not let him go, and even tries to hurt him. Then, Aslan's supporters and his siblings rescue Edmund, and then Aslan sacrifices his life for him due to Deep Magic.
