ESL New Year Resolutions Lesson Plan

Instructor: Kim-Kathie Knudsen

Kim-Kathie has taught high school and college Spanish and has worked as a professional development specialist and instructional technology administrator. She has a master's degree in Teaching and Curriculum and is currently working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership.

This lesson provides an overview of New Year's resolutions to use with younger ESL (English as a Second Language) learners. Students will learn about New Year's resolutions and complete an activity to make their own.

Learning Objective

After completing this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Talk about the New Year's holiday using appropriate vocabulary and phrases.
  • Explain what a New Year's resolution is.
  • Make a New Year's resolution.
