ESL Past Simple Lesson Plan

Kerry has been a teacher and an administrator for more than twenty years. She has a Master of Education degree.

This lesson plan will help ESL teachers explain past simple verbs and their proper use to students. Students will read a lesson about verb tense and practice using regular and irregular past tense verbs in context.

Learning Objectives

After this lesson, students will be able to:

  • define verb tense
  • differentiate between irregular and regular verbs
  • properly use simple past tense verbs in context
