# Factoring, Graphing Parabolas & Solving Quadratics: Homeschool Assignments

Instructor: Sujin Shin
This assignment gives students practice working with parabolic graphs, factoring, and using the quadratic equation to solve for a variable.

Instructions: Hand-write your responses on lined paper. Include all steps and show all your work.

1. Identify the vertex of this parabola: y = 3(x + 5)2 - 6

2. Rewrite this equation in intercept form: y = 3x2 + 6x - 24

3. Use the area method to find the product: (7x + 2)(4x - 4)

4. Factor: x 2 + 3x - 28

5. Factor: 3x3 - 3x2 - 60x

6. Factor and solve for p: 4p2 + 23p - 6 = 0

7. Factor and solve for x: 3x2 - 8 = -10x
