Brushing up on your food preparation knowledge means having a solid understanding of important kitchen terms. In this lesson, you'll learn more about the key vocabulary terms crucial in food prep.

Vocabulary Lesson

Remember when you were in elementary school and your teacher would assign key terms for you to take home so you could learn the definitions? Maybe they were important words in your class reading assignment or just critical terms your teacher thought you should know.

In this lesson, we're going to reach back into our elementary school days with a vocabulary lesson of sorts! Instead of words like ''deadly,'' ''gigantic,'' or ''parade,'' however, we're going to focus our efforts on key food preparation terms. If you have spent any time in a kitchen or studied culinary arts, you've likely encountered many of these. See how many you're already acquainted with and how many are new to you.
