Assign these activities to ensure students understood their reading of Freak the Mighty by Rodman Philbrick. Not only will they gain a deeper understanding of the book, but they can be used along with the book to understand the themes.

Freak the Mighty Activities

Freak the Mighty is a story about friendship and the trials of two boys with various disabilities. Not only will children explore adversity but how one overcomes it. Designed for middle to high school students, these activities will help students to dissect and explore the book. The activities are designed to explore the themes of friendship and living with disabilities.

A Friendship Song

Kevin and Max have a special bond. In this activity, students will discuss their relationship and create a song about their friendship.
