Internet marketing is an essential part of helping a business stay competitive. In this lesson, we will discuss internet marketing techniques, software, and tools.

Internet Marketing Techniques

Internet marketing is a key element of establishing your business's online presence, and there are numerous techniques you can use to create an internet marketing plan.

To begin with, it is critical to have effective web design for the company's website. If you start with excellent graphic design, you will be able to make your marketing material much more visually appealing.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is another helpful technique. SEO can give your business a competitive advantage by increasing your odds of showing up at the top of the list on search engines like Google, Yahoo, or MSN. It is also important to establish a strong email marketing campaign. Email marketing allows a company to reach a large audience, promote the company, and communicate with customers. It can be used to send out promotions, share company information, promote social media links, etc.

Having a social media presence is also essential for business. It is important for companies to utilize social media to communicate with customers, display promotions, and get feedback. Some of the most popular social media websites and applications are Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Using different social media sites can help business's contact potential and current customers wherever they already are.

Internet Marketing Software & Tools

Internet marketing software allows a company to spread information about their promotions, attract customers, maintain current customers, communicate with customers, and retain customers. These are some of most efficient internet marketing programs available:

  • MailChimp- MailChimp is an internet marketing tool that allows companies to send mass emails to customers, or distribute important information to employees. It allows the company to customize email and communicate with clients. The program also allows the business to add different types of lists when sending emails. For instance, one company can have a list for employees and a list for customers, allowing them to send out information quickly to the appropriate party. MailChimp can either be free or fee-based depending on some the number of users added to the software.
  • Vocus- Vocus is a cloud-based software that helps companies build a customer base on social media and other media channels as well. It has many tools to help you reach various social media websites. It also helps with search engine optimization, and contains email marketing.
  • HubSpot- HubSpot is an all-in-one internet marketing product that helps manage web page content and social media, and measures the success of your marketing campaigns by determining the leads and customers that visit. HubSpot helps bring all of the important marketing techniques into one software.
