Latin American Art Lesson Plan

What is unique about Latin American art and how does it represent the culture of the region? This lesson plan uses a text lesson to explain the history and influence of Latin American art. An activity connects students with its common characteristics.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • summarize the history of Latin American art
  • explain how Latin American art relates to the culture of the region
  • list and describe several important pieces of Latin American art

  • Several images exemplifying Latin American art
  • Full-color paper copies of the text lesson Latin American Art History, one for each student
  • A worksheet created using the quiz from the associated text lesson, one for each student
  • Heavyweight white paper
  • Acrylic paints
  • Paintbrushes
