Latin America can be studied in many ways, but it's more fun and engaging for students if they are able to learn through activities and games. Check out these ideas for geography games which are ideal for teaching students about Latin America.

Latin American Geography Games

Some of the nearest countries to the United States are found in Latin America, yet it is still part of the world that a lot of people know little about. This is just another reason why it is especially important for students to get a good education on the geography of this part of the world. That can be done in a lot of different ways, but we can make it fun and engaging for students by playing some geography games. In this lesson, we're going to describe a few ideas for geography games that can be used for teaching about Latin America.

The Map Game

This first game is a way of giving students practice identifying the countries of Latin America. Start by drawing a map of Latin America on the main whiteboard, or on a large piece of parchment paper on the wall. Also, create a series of labels with the names of every country in Latin America, and attach pieces of tack (or something else sticky) to the back of them so they can be stuck to the map and removed again easily.
