''My Secret Sister'' is an autobiography about sisters separated near birth who reconnect decades later. These questions can help facilitate a class discussion on the book's content, themes, and structure.

My Secret Sister

My Secret Sister is a 2013 autobiography by Helen Edwards and Jenny Lee Smith. The story focuses on two twin sisters, unknowingly separated near birth, who find each other much later in life. While the story is ultimately hopeful and optimistic, it does focus heavily on the domestic abuse and neglect suffered by one of the sisters, and it's worth noting that these scenes may act as triggers for some students. Please consider addressing this before students begin the book. The following questions, however, can help high school students work through the autobiography's main ideas, structure, and themes as a class.
