In this lesson you will read two passages that talk about nature, the environment, and what we need to do to protect them. You will also get a chance to practice your vocabulary by answering some comprehension questions.

La Naturaleza y El Medio Ambiente

Nature and the environment are very important to human survival. You may have noticed many campaigns for their protection. In this practice, you'll read two texts about nature and the environment. As you read, use context clues to help you understand the texts. Also, look for cognates, which are words that are similar in English and Spanish, to help you as you read. After each text, you'll be asked some questions to test your comprehension. You'll find the answers to these questions at the end of the lesson.

Choose true or false.

(cierto o falso)

Ahora, did you notice phrases like hay que and tener que? We can use these phrases to talk about things that must be done or that have to be done. Also, did you notice the cognates? Humanos, planeta, and hábitats are very similar to their English counterparts.

Ahora, respondemos a unas preguntas. Choose the correct response to fill in the blank.
