Use this video-based lesson plan to review the plot, characters and setting in the novel ''Number the Stars''. Discuss each with students, then have them determine theme, using textual evidence to support thinking, and create presentations to demonstrate knowledge.

Learning Objectives

After this lesson, students will be able to:

  • summarize the plot points in Number the Stars
  • explain the characters in Number the Stars
  • identify the theme in Number the Stars
  • create a presentation to demonstrate understanding of the theme and text evidence in Number the Stars
