A digital strategy is something most businesses, if not all, need nowadays. Most customers use digital media of some sort such as social media and their smartphones, so your business needs to have a strategy in place to capture this audience.

Use this scenario to practice creating your own SMART goals for your own digital strategy. Remember, a digital strategy is one that encompasses all things digital which includes the internet and so much more such as websites, social media, and email.

The Scenario

Imagine that you have just started a new start-up company that promises to deliver fresh cookies and milk throughout your hometown within an hour of receiving an order. Right now, your close friends and family are all interested in your company, but in order to succeed, you need for other people to know about and order from your company. You need a marketing plan that also includes a digital strategy.

Your Digital Strategy

To create your digital strategy, you need to consider your target audience and figure out what types of digital media they consume. Perhaps, they watch television, or they use their smartphones a lot. Or perhaps they use social media several times a day. Perhaps your customers want rewards for making repeat orders from you. All of these things are important for you to figure out as you get on your way in creating your digital strategy.
