Tina is learning all about what is produced on Farmer Raul's farm. Follow along with her in this lesson as you learn all about the verb producir, which means 'to produce'. You will learn how to conjugate this verb in the preterite, imperfect, and present tenses.

What Do They Produce?

Tina has decided to volunteer at a huge farm complex for the summer. Farmer José is showing her around to all the different departments. They produce many different items on the farm. The verb 'to produce' in Spanish is producir. In this lesson, we'll learn how to conjugate the verb producir and check in on Tina as she gets to know the farm where she will be volunteering.

Let's look at how to conjugate the verb producir before seeing some examples. All verbs in this lesson will be conjugated in the indicative. Remember that in Spanish, pronouns are only used when needed to specify who is speaking. For example, pronouns are necessary for the third person singular (él, ella, usted), but not for the second person ().

Producir in the Preterite Tense

The preterite tense is used to talk about things that happened in the immediate past. The verb producir is irregular in the past tense. It follows the same pattern as the verb traducir.
