Project-based learning is being implemented in more and more classrooms. These ideas will provide some options for bringing this teaching strategy into your Spanish classroom.

Project-Based Learning in the Spanish Classroom

Project-based learning is a popular pedagogical approach that is focused on student-driven discovery and exploration over teacher-focused lecturing. The goal of project-based learning is to let students investigate a complex question or problem over an extended period of time, as well as to emphasize 21st-century skills and real-world solutions. The following project ideas are designed to be adaptable to most Spanish-language classrooms, although as they are written they trend towards upper-level students. For students with less-developed fluency, considering modifying these projects to allow for more use of English or to focus on specific vocabulary or grammar sets.
