Science Games for Fourth or Fifth Graders

Not everyone loves science, but most everyone loves to play games. Adding games to a science classroom helps keep students engaged, and therefore aids learning. There are many games you can play in a classroom. You can make up your own, but some of the best are adaptations on more well-known games. Let's take a look at some games you can try in your classroom.

Science Hangman

Learning science is like learning a whole new language. There are technical terms like photosynthesis, molecule, diffusion, momentum, osmosis, and hundreds more. And even the regular language that scientists use tends to involve longer words, and can be hard to decipher for the untrained. One way you can help with this is by explicitly working on vocabulary with students. Hangman is a great game for this.
