Technology Projects for Elementary Students

As teachers, we are often encouraged to incorporate more technology into our curricula. Yet, it can be confusing to know where to start. This lesson gives you some great ideas for technology projects to do with elementary students.

Why Technology Projects?

In this day and age, teachers are often encouraged to incorporate more technology into the classroom. Our students will need to be savvy users of technology for the rest of their lives. Technology can also be very motivating to students and, if used properly, can help them consolidate their learning. Yet, it can sometimes be confusing to figure out how to incorporate technology with young students in meaningful and integrated ways. Developing and implementing projects can be one of the best ways to get elementary students using technology. Projects allow students to integrate knowledge from different aspects of their curriculum and to work collaboratively over time to develop something that will be meaningful to them. The projects in this lesson can be modified to meet the needs of particular age groups and ability levels, but all of them are oriented toward helping elementary students use technology.
