The Lamb by William Blake Lesson Plan

With this lesson plan, your students are going to analyze William Blake's poem 'The Lamb.' They will explore Blake's methods and use of imagery by emulating his style in their own poetry.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Describe the overall style and themes used by William Blake
  • Analyze 'The Lamb' for stylistic devices and meaning
  • Compose their own poems in the style of William Blake

Materials

  • Copies of Lesson Quiz, one for each student
  • Strips of paper with types of animals written on them
