Define each vocabulary term. Notate the page where each is found and explain the word in the context of this chapter. Afterwards, choose one word from the list, use it in a sentence and follow the additional instructions.


Provide at least 2 synonyms. Use each synonyms in a sentence in the context of the book. If you could make revisions to this chapter, which synonym would you choose to replace the original word and why?


Provide at least 2 antonyms. Use each antonym in a sentence in the context of the book. If you could make revisions to this chapter, which antonym would you choose to replace the original word and why?


After defining this word. Do you know someone personally, in a movie or television show who has premonitions? List some advantages and disadvantages of having premonitions.

Literature Questions

  • Why did the Socs approach Johnny and Pony? Was Pony prepared? Explain how he felt as the Socs began talking to him and Johnny. List three adjectives in your explanation.
  • What did Johnny do to Bob? Describe Johnny's explanation of why he committed such an act. What did Johnny use in this scene against Bob?
  • In reference to the question above, explain Johnny's demeanor. Use at least three adjectives.
  • Based on Pony's account, describe Dally's character and personality traits. Do you think he's the right person to help Johnny and Pony. Why or why not?
  • List each item Dally gave Johnny and Pony. Why did he give them these items? Where did he suggest they go? What mode did he suggest they use to get there? Did they take his advice? Explain in detail.
  • Explain Johnny's personality based on Pony's account in the chapter. Was he the type of person to commit the act he did? Use specific quotes from the book to support your answer.
  • What quotes in the book describe whether Johnny and Pony are adolescents or adults? Classify Johnny and Pony as adults or adolescents based on those quotes.
