The Snail by Henri Matisse Lesson Plan

Why is 'The Snail' by Henri Matisse considered one of his seminal works? This lesson plan provides a background on the artist's work as well as analysis of the piece. An activity gives students the chance to replicate Matisse's pivotal work.

  • discuss the method of gouaches découpées used by Henri Matisse in The Snail
