Teachers, this lesson explores Gabriel Garcia Marquez and his speech The Solitude of Latin America. Students will complete a reading activity, participate in discussion questions, create a skit and take a quiz.

After this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Explain the struggles of Latin America in the 20th century
  • Discuss Gabriel García Márquez' contribution to Latin America
  • Analyze The Solitude of Latin America speech
