Zoo Animals Lesson Plan

What kinds of animals live in the zoo? Help students answer these and other questions about zoo animals with this lesson plan. Then have students practice categorizing with a fun related activity.

Learning Objectives

After this lesson, students will be able to:

  • identify animals that live in the zoo
  • explain the terms 'habitat' and 'species'
  • discuss the pros and cons of the zoo

Length:

  • 45 minutes

Materials

  • Copies of the lesson Zoo Animals: Lesson for Kids, one for each student, or the lesson displayed on a shared document reader
  • Chart paper or poster board
  • Art supplies such as crayons and markers
