Zoology Lesson Plan

Adrianne has taught high school and college biology and has a master's degree in cancer biology.

You can make learning about zoology fun for your students by following this lesson plan where they will read and discuss a text lesson, identify types of zoologists, create their own zoology research plan, and take a quiz.

Learning Objectives

At the completion of this lesson, students will be able to:

  • Define zoology
  • Explain the different branches of zoology
  • Describe the tools used by zoologist

Materials

  • A screen to show the video and copies of the What is Zoology? - Definition, Branches, & Tools lesson, one for each student
  • Copies of the lesson quiz, one for each student
  • Student computers
  • Transparencies with illustrations of zoologists working and their tools
  • Index cards with one branch of zoology on each one
  • Poster board or presentation software (PowerPoint, Prezi, etc.)
