How Much Does the CEOE Test Cost?
The Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE) include dozens of exams to help prospective and current educators acquire the certification needed to teach in Oklahoma public schools. These exams include the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET), two Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examinations (OPTE) and more than 50 Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT).
When registering for a CEOE exam, test takers are required to pay one or more fees. Here is a breakdown of what students can expect to pay per test or subtest for each type of exam.
|CEOE Test||CEOE Test Fee (per test or subtest)||Computer-Based Test (CBT) Fee (per test or subtest)||Registration Processing Fee (one-time annual fee)|
|Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET)||$65||$25||$30|
|Oklahoma Professional Teaching Examination (OPTE): PK-8 & 6-12||$140||$25||$0|
|Oklahoma Subject Area Tests (OSAT) (most exams)||$80||$25||$30|
|OSAT Elementary Education Subtests 1 and 2||$35||$25||$30|
|OSAT Elementary, Middle Level and Secondary Principal Comprehensive Assessments||$100||$25||$30|
Note: The registration-processing fee is paid one time annually during a first-time registration.
CEOE Test Payment Methods
Preferred payment methods to use during the CEOE test registration process include the following:
- Credit cards: Only MasterCard or VISA credit cards are accepted.
- Debit or check cards: Only debit cards that do not require a personal identification number (PIN) and have the VISA or MasterCard logo are accepted.
- Vouchers: Vouchers issued following participation in a pilot program or another scenario can be used during registration.
- Checks: Individuals who are unable to pay using the above options can contact Evaluation Systems to find out how to pay by check.
CEOE Test Costs for Rescheduling, Cancellations & More
Cancelling a test, arriving to a test center late or retaking an exam might result in having to repay specific fees. Take a look at different scenarios that could result in additional test fee transactions.
Test Cancellations & Refunds
If you've registered for a CEOE test and are no longer able to take it, or want to take a different test or subtest, you can still have your test fee fully refunded. You will need to cancel your test appointment (you must do so at least 24 hours prior to the test time) and withdraw your registration. However, you will not receive a refund of your CBT fee or registration processing fee. Evaluation Systems typically issues refunds within four weeks.
Rescheduling a Test
If you reschedule a CEOE test date or time, you will not have to pay a rescheduling fee. Keep in mind, however, that you should reschedule your test at least 24 hours prior to the time you are scheduled to take your exam.
Expired & Multiple Registrations
All CEOE test registrations are valid one year from their issue date. If no test appointment is scheduled or you fail to withdraw a registration during that timeframe, no refund or credit will be issued.
If you register for the same test more than one time and earn a passing score for the first test date registered, you will not receive refunds for the remaining registrations.
Retaking the Exam
Individuals are able to retake an exam no sooner than 60 days after taking an initial exam. In order to retake an exam, the test taker must submit a new registration and make payment. Exams can be retaken as many times as needed to earn a passing score.
Test takers who fail to arrive at the testing center and don't reschedule within the appropriate time frame are marked absent. If you are absent, you will not receive a credit or refund and will be required to register and pay for the exam again. However, if you are faced with an emergency, you may be able to receive a fee voucher that allows you to take the test later (the voucher must be requested within 30 calendar days of the test appointment that was missed). The fee voucher pays for the test fee and CBT fee.
Late Arrival Policy
Test takers who arrive more than 15 minutes late for their test appointment could possibly not be admitted to take the test. Anyone not admitted will not receive a refund or credit and will be required to register and pay for the test again.
Testing Center Cancellations
If your scheduled testing appointment must be cancelled due to a natural disaster, severe weather or another issue determined by the testing center, you will be contacted to set a new test appointment. Paid test fees will remain valid.
