Florida Real Estate Exam Dates

Dates for the Florida Real Estate Exam

The Florida real estate licensing exam is offered on a continual basis, and luckily, the exams are pretty easy to schedule. Once you've completed the application and submitted an electronic fingerprint criminal background check, you should be contacted by Pearson VUE. This is the organization that manages the testing facilities. Pearson VUE will provide you with an authorization letter, and at this point, you can schedule your exam by telephone or online. Testing centers may be closed or have modified hours on holidays, so check with your specific center if this is a concern.

When Should You Take the Exam?

While the exam is offered frequently, there is still a question of when is the best time to take the exam. This is a personal choice. Technically, your pre-licensing course is good for two years, so you have up until that time to schedule an exam. However, some professionals involved in licensing and exams recommend that you schedule your exam for 3-5 days after the completion of an exam prep course. The state does offer these courses, as do several private companies.

With Pearson VUE, you can schedule your exam up to one business day before you would like to test. Of course, if you wait until the last minute, there is a chance that all spots will be filled. Testing seats are based on availability and are reserved on a first-come basis.

Rescheduling an Exam

If you need to reschedule your real estate license exam, contact Pearson VUE as soon as possible. You may reschedule an exam up to two full calendar days prior to the test without penalty. This means that if your exam was originally scheduled for a Monday (at any time on that day), you must reschedule it before midnight on the preceding Friday. If you miss this cutoff and try to reschedule within two days of the exam, you may be charged a penalty or have to pay the entire exam fee again.

Testing Locations

To schedule your exam, you will need to know where the closest testing center is. Pearson VUE manages over 20 testing centers across the state of Florida, so there may or may not be one in your hometown. There is at least one testing center in every region of the state, however. Testing centers can be found in the following locations:
