Instructor: Laura Melega
The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) evaluates students' logic and reasoning skills and is used by admissions counselors to examine program applicants' preparedness for law school. Learn where you can find free LSAT practice tests to help you be successful on exam day.

Benefits of LSAT Practice Tests

In addition to helping you get acquainted with the LSAT's test format and question types, practice exams provide feedback that allows you to pinpoint which test areas would benefit from some extra study time. Many practice tests are also timed, which can help you learn to pace yourself during this rigorous three-and-a-half-hour exam.

Some of the organizations offering online and on-site LSAT practice tests at no charge are profiled below.

Law School Admission Council

The Law School Admission Council (LSAC) is the administrator of the LSAT and offers one complete practice exam that can be completed online or downloaded for free as a pdf file. It includes timing instructions so you can take the test under the same circumstances as the actual LSAT.

Additional practice designed to familiarize you with the exam's logical reasoning, reading comprehension, and analytical reasoning questions can also be found on this site. Two essay writing prompts are included as well, along with general information about LSAT registration services and exam fees.

McGraw-Hill Education

McGraw-Hill Education's Practice Plus site offers a diagnostic test and four online practice LSAT exams. Each practice test includes four separate sections listed as Reading Comprehension, Arguments Part I & II, and Logic Games. There's also an online timer so you can test yourself under conditions identical to the exam.

The Princeton Review

The Princeton Review hosts free, online practice LSAT exams to students who set up a Princeton Review account. You can also sign up for free on-site practice tests offered periodically at local test prep centers and on college and university campuses.

Kaplan

Kaplan offers four-hour, online LSAT practice tests to students who register for one of the available time slots. Kaplan provides explanations for all of the answers, and test-takers receive access to a detailed test performance analysis. Similar events are also offered on college campuses.
