Free PSAT Practice Test

Instructor: Carrie Soucy
Practice tests are important resources for high school students planning to take the PSAT test. Read on to learn where to find these tests for free and how to utilize them in preparing for the PSAT.

PSAT Practice Tests

The College Board, which administers the PSAT, offers free downloadable practice tests on its website to help students prepare for the PSAT 10 and the PSAT/NMSQT. To score practice tests, students may either download scoring and answer explanation guides or utilize the College Board's mobile phone app, which provides results based on a photo of the student's answer sheet.

Benefits of Practice Tests

  • Because practice tests are composed by the authors of the real exams, content and questions mirror what students can expect on test day.
  • Practice tests are constructed and scored exactly the same as the real PSAT, so students may familiarize themselves with marking answer sheets and doing their best to guess on a question if they are unsure of the answer.
  • Practice tests include timing for each section so students may practice taking the PSAT within the time constraints they will experience on test day. This will help test-takers develop pacing and time management skills for the PSAT's three sections.
