How to Register for the WEST-B Test

Registering for the WEST-B Exam

The WEST website has an online account system that allows individuals to register for tests, make payments and schedule their exam times. Individuals are required to provide personal information, including their name, a security question and answer, a password and contact information (e.g., email address) while creating their account.

After creating an account, test takers can log into their account so they can choose to register for an exam. This involves selecting the exam they intend to take.

The total cost for the WEST-B exam is $155. This includes a $35 registration processing fee, as well as $120 for the combined test. Individuals who choose to take each subtest separately will have to pay $40 per subtest as well as the $35 registration processing fee for each subtest. The online account system allows individuals to pay with a credit card. Check and debit cards are also accepted as long as they have a logo from VISA or Mastercard on them. Financial aid vouchers are also acceptable. If needed, test takers can pay by check as well. To do this, individuals must contact Pearson for further details.

Locating a Test Site

The Pearson VUE website has an app that allows individuals to insert their zip code, street address or city. Once the person does this, the app provides a list of the test sites closest to that location. This will enable test-takers to determine the best test site options for them to sit for the exam.

Locating a Test Time

The Pearson VUE website also has an app for identifying times when there is space to take exams. Individuals must choose the test and then select up to 3 test sites where they prefer to take their exam. Once they do this, they will be able to access calendars for each test site to see which dates and times are available.

Scheduling an exam is done through the online account system on the WEST website. Individuals must select the schedule option and then follow the steps to secure their test time, date and location.

An email from Pearson VUE will verify that you have scheduled your exam. It will confirm your test time and date and other relevant details, such as your chosen test site and how to get there.

If you have scheduled your test but need to change the date, time or location then you must reschedule. This can be done through your account on the WEST website if you do not have accommodations approved. The only way to change your test schedule with accommodations is by calling Pearson VUE directly.

Individuals have until 24 hours prior to the time their test was scheduled to start to change their test schedule.
