How to Retake a Proctored Exam

Instructor: Eric Chase
This article will discuss how to re-take a proctored exam. The proctored final exam is the final step to earning college credit through If you don't pass the first time, we'll tell you what you need to study so you can re-take it at a later date.

If you don't pass an exam, we'll provide you with a study guide that lists the lessons you should review before attempting the exam again. There is a waiting period before retaking an exam, and you can use this time to study and review the course. Prepare by watching the videos, retaking the quizzes, and drilling with the flashcards.

When You Can Retake the Exam

There are two things that need to happen before you re-take your exam. First, our guidance staff needs to review your results and send you your study guide if you didn't pass. This can take 1-2 weeks from your first exam attempt but is usually much faster.

There is also a 3 day waiting period in between exam attempts. This means you need to wait a minimum of 3 days from your first attempt before retaking an exam.

As a College Accelerator member, you can take 2 exams every 30 days. If you've already taken your two exams, you can wait for the next 30 day period or purchase additional exams to earn credit even faster.

Here's an example of how the 30 day period works.

Alex takes the Business 101 exam on May 7 and the Math 101 exam on May 14. He does not pass Math 101 and wants to retake it. Alex purchases another exam so that he can retake the exam while the class is still fresh in his mind. He will be able to re-take Math 101 on May 17, which is 3 days after his original exam date. While he's waiting, he uses his study guide to review the concepts he missed.

To review, in order to retake an exam you need to wait at least 3 days and have either taken only one exam within a 30 day period or have purchased an additional exam.

Retaking The Exam

When you're ready to retake the exam, simply go to the course page and register for the exam. You'll be guided through the same exam registration process you went through the first time you took the exam.

That's all you need to know about retaking a proctored exam. Good luck!
