Registration Deadlines

There are three different registration zones for the MCAT: Gold, Silver and Bronze. The Gold Zone can begin several months before the exam date and continues up until a month before the test. If you register by 11:59 p.m. ET on the Gold Zone deadline day, you will be able to reschedule if necessary at a reduced rate, and you also qualify for a cancellation refund. This is the only zone in which individuals can receive a refund.

The Silver Zone lasts up until about two about weeks prior to the test. If you register within the Silver Zone, you'll be charged the same initial registration fee as in the Gold Zone, but the rescheduling fee nearly doubles.

The final zone, the Bronze Zone, expires about a week before the exam. You must register before this zone's time period ends in order to have a reservation cancelled. Rescheduling is not an option in the Bronze Zone.

Registration Fee

The fees associated with registering for the MCAT vary by the registration zone. For the Gold and Silver Zones, the initial registration fee is $305, compared to $355 in the Bronze Zone. In the case of all three zones, the international fee is $95, which is added to what you pay for initial registration. Gold Zone registrants qualify for a $150 cancellation refund and a $75 rescheduling fee. Silver Zone registrants will have a $135 rescheduling fee. For those who are eligible, there is a fee assistance program.
